@the_glendon Summer Mix Well, here it is, halfway through Summer. I guess I’m just now realizing it’s Summer. Been a weird time lately and haven’t felt settled. So that’s reflected in the mix. No definitive summer bangers or windows-rolled-down-sing-alongs. Hell even the hip hop is kinda melancholy. Regardless, some solid stuff in here. Put it on your headphones at the pool. Enjoy.Endless Summer - Anoraak

Honestly, I go back to Anoraak no matter the time of year. Something about his melodic synths are season-neutral. The title is pretty much the only reason this track made it. Good nonetheless.I Go Away – Mndr

Brooklyn via Oakland via Fargo? Whatever, I’ll take it.Gathering Shadow – NickNack

I’ve been a bit nostalgic lately for my college-era music. Lots of DJ Shadow, Tortoise, Radiohead and the Promise Ring. This could’ve been played in my dorm room circa 1998 and been completely appropriate. From Home (Mux Mool Remix) - Tycho

My love for Tycho is obvious. Anything new pretty much makes some mix or list I create. Mux Mool is getting to be as consistent. So pair em up and it’s great. Tycho is always good summer daze music anyway.Chinatown – Wild Nothing

Cloudbusting was one of my fave summer songs last year. So I figured Wild Nothing was a good shot this year. Fog, clouds, Chinatown. Summer in SF I guess.LA Suxxx – Nika and Rory

Continuing on with the Cali-related songs. Big on all of the tracks or traxxx(?) I’m hearing from Nika and Rory. Which is an auto-tuned Nika from Zola Jesus and some dude, I’m assuming named Rory. Can club music be haunting? Yes. If you’re a DJ throw some select Salem tracks in the mix with this and your crowd will be grinding and slitting-wrists all over the floor.XXXO rmx feat Jay-Z – MIA

MIA’s new album is a bit convoluted. This track sounds more Santigold to me, but I guess I thought all of Santigold’s tracks sounded more MIA. Regardless, Jay Z manages to take this track and completely blow it the fuck up. Best guest track of his since the Panjabi MC bars. Just shows me he’s on another level that even the likes of MIA can’t touch. What it is – Sophia Fresh feat Kanye

More low key club nonsense. A chopped and screwy track that I wish was Ciara’s. Kanye bragging about clothes. Hello Good Morning (remix) - Diddy feat Rick Ross and Nicki Minaj

A track from Diddy (It’s just Diddy now.) that actually sounds current. Diddy still can’t rap though. “Hard as a crowbar” just doesn’t cut it. I wonder who has bigger tits, Rick Ross or Nicki Minaj? Good Afternoon – The Cool Kids

I need a track called Good Evening on this mix. I like where the Cool Kids are going with this. It’s not the ironic early 90’s hip hop tone they typically take, so I like seeing them expand. This is a quintessential summer jam.The Hammer - !!!

The new !!! album is incredible. The death of their drummer down an elevator shaft was a horrible story. So I’m glad to see they bounced back with such a solid album. This is a little bit more an aggressive track once it gets going, and that’s where they really do it for me.Falling In – Christopher Wade

I gotta say, when I first heard this track I did not like it. But it grew on me, and grew on me, and grew on me, and grew on me, and grew on me. And now I love it. Minimal house with some soul from Rhode Island. R U That Somebody? (Brenmar Windy City Mix) - Aaliyah

I said I was in a college mood. And this definitely falls in that group. This remix freshens it up a bit. CMYK – James Blake

SO, this samples the previous track (amongst others). AND, I’ve been playing it nonstop for the past couple months. King Night – SALEM

Like I mentioned with Nika and Rory, this is wrist-slitting club music. I want to be in a dark, dingy bar somewhere near the United Center in Chicago watching two drunk hipsters trying to grind to this. I need to make this happen.Get Fcked – Aspirations

Time to cheer this mix up with a song called Get Fcked!!! Actually I fucking love this song. Hard core vocals over samples. One of my fave tracks of the year.Karaoke – Drake

I dig the new Drake album. Bragging, self-conscious, melodic and introspective.Another Night – Paper Route Gangstaz

Bama hip hop sampling Adult Swim cartoons, somehow takes me to Bob Seger. That’s why I love music.Remember – Lali Puna

Starts off sounding like Fatboy Slim. Thank god it takes a departure from there. Nice little Aphex Twin-ish breakdown in the middle.come with me – ceo

This is a track from the new project of dude from Tough Alliance. Kind of interchangeable with Delorean, in a good way.A Town Called Obsolete (Mount Kimbie remix) - Andreya Triana

Mount Kimbie works with the previously noted James Blake. This track gets a sexy new spin. Moody and rambling.I Can Change – LCD Soundsystem

This whole album is fun. And I’m glad to see LCD getting the mainstream love. I heard this on the radio. Like the real radio. Not even an indie station on XM. So that’s good. LCD at it’s best.On My Way Back Home – Band of Horses

I like the new Band of Horses album. I do. Just not a ton. Kind of forgettable. I do like this track a lot though. All I Want – LCD Soundsystem

Had to throw another on here. One of my fave albums of the year deserves it. Runaway – The National

Couldn’t get away without a National song either. Download here:http://www.mediafire.com/?kdnd2gt5qtm

Love this Summer Mix! Makes me smile!Download and enjoy!
